Hey all!
Since the past couple of months there have been quite many rumours & questions if Asambhav is about to end. Considering the fast pace at which the serial is moving forward, it only confirms the doubts. Today I just happened to check the Zee Marathi Schedule on Zee Marathi Website and I discovered that the 8:30 pm & 11.00 pm slots display New Daily Soap against them from 17th Aug 2009.
Well sometimes this information source is not 100% reliable. But what if it is this time? Is Asambhav really gonna end? Which other serial will replace Asambhav? Since the last couple of days a promo of a new show called "तिसरी घंटा" is being relayed...will this show likely replace Asambhav?
If Asambhav does end, we will surely miss an interesting serial & ofcourse also Dr Samant. But lets keep our fingers crossed. And in the meantime we have something more interesting to look forward to .... the Zee Marathi Awards.
Hey guys seems the last date for voting for the ZMA-2009 has been extended upto 10th Aug.!
Sunil has been honored with two nominations for the Zee Marathi Awards this year in the
'Best character - male' category as
Dr. Viraj Samant of Asambhav &
Vishal Pandey of Kalat Nakalat...
To vote online go to http://zeemarathi.com/ZMAwards2009.aspx
Guess there's no restriction on the number of votes per person.
Also forms are available at the Waman Hari Pethe Showrooms & with the local cable operators!
Since both his nominations are in the same category, if all of us vote unanimously for the more popular character of Dr. Viraj Samant, the probability of Sunil winning the Award will be higher than when the votes get divided between his two nominations.
The last date for voting is 2nd Aug 2009.
Lets make sure that he wins by a larger margin

The Deshmukh family lives together in ‘Ashray' an old house in Mumbai. The patriarch of the family Anna (Sudhir Joshi) is an ex-freedom fighter and likes to write letters to the editor demanding a ban on nuclear weapons. His wife Mai (Prema Sakhardande) is a loving woman and is like a mother to her daughters-in-law. Their eldest son Prabhakar (Sanjay Mone) and his wife (Suhas Joshi) have three children - Prashant (Sunil Barve), Anand (Bharat Jadhav) and Alka. Their younger son Bal (Bal Karve) and his wife Shalini (Amita Khopkar) have two daughters -Latika and Kalika.
The family is close knit and bound together by values. However, minor differences do occur. One point of discussion in the house is whether they should sell the old house and make way for a tower where they can all be accommodated in separate flats. Living in a joint family the younger generation is always pampered and protected which they feel is a real obstacle in their growth process when facing the harsh realities of the outside world. Each has a unique mindset & are eager to explore the abundance of experiences outside their sheltered nest. But despite their idealogies how they stand by their family & each other in the times of crisis is the essence of the story.
The serial is written & directed by Pratima Kulkarni. One easily identifies with some or the other character of the Deshmukh family. The fun moments shared by the family members, the support they receive from each other & their unity in times of need is endearing to one & all!
Prashant Deshmukh is the eldest in the younger generation. He is intelligent & works for a finance company. Although fascinated by wealth & prestige symbols, he refrains from getting involved in a financial scam purely on the basis of his moral values. He values the ancestral property, but being practical he understands the necessity to have a new building in place of the old house as he realises the need for privacy n space.
'Prapancha' is currently being retelecast on Zee Marathi. For those of you who missed it earlier, you can watch Prapancha every Wed, Thurs & Fri at 10.30pm on Zee Marathi.

Asambhav is a story based on re- incarnation. The story begins with the engagement of Adinath Shastri and Sulekha. Due to unavoidable circumstances, Adinath ends up marrying Shubhra. Sulekha is hurt and vows to take revenge by destroying the Shastri family.
Shubhra keeps getting visions but cannot understand their meaning. With the help of Dr Samant, Shubhra realizes that she is the re-incarnation of Parvati. Her husband Adinath was married to her in her previous birth too and his name was Mahadev. Sulekha was called Indumati in her previous birth. Indumati had tried to grab the wealth of the Shastri family and Parvati had tried to stop her from doing so.
The three lead characters continue their mission in this birth too. Adinath and Shubhra try to save the Shastri family from Sulekha. As the mission unfolds, many secrets of the past are unveiled.
Will this fight between the good and evil continue or will it end in this life? We have to keep watching Asambhav to find out ;-)
Sunil Barve as Dr. Viraj Samant is a psychiatrist by profession. He is married to his college love Tanishka , now an advocate. After their daughter Pihu’s birth Tanishka’s strange meditation practices on their daughter becomes a point of heated arguments between them & eventually results in their separation.
As a psychiatrist who is treating Shubhra, Dr. Samant becomes the catalyst for making her aware of her past birth as Parvati. In this process he too starts getting visions about his past birth as Shrirang Ranade & his connections to the Shastri family at that time. Meanwhile, Tanishka is helping the hurt Sulekha to master her psychic skills to accomplish her revenge on the Shastri family.
His past birth as Shrirang Ranade is that of a happy go lucky person who is a good friend of Mahadev Shastri & works for the Britishers. He is also a photographer by hobby.
Sunil Barve has used certain mannerisms & made subtle changes in his looks n style to distinguish between the two characters. He rendered a deep tone to his voice for portraying the mature & sophisticated image of a seasoned psychiatrist. He adopted the attire of an English Man complete with a beret(cap) and a scarf to suit the elite gentleman of the olden days. He is also wearing colored contacts & rimless glasses for a more subtle distinction.

The title track of this song is exclusively filmed as a music video. A first of its kind. The picturesque locations seen in this video are from Barshi village near Pune.
The story revolves around Madhura, a young woman who has to look after the affairs of a big company of her late husband’s family & how she successfully juggles between the professional ups & downs & the drama in her personal life through her sheer determination.
After being deceived by her first love & later being an accused widow of her late husband, Madhura is rescued by Vishal Pandey, an advocate & also the groom initially chosen by her father for her. Even being rejected by her at that time, Vishal stands by her side in all her personal traumas & professional difficulties. Madhura who is managing the affairs of her husband’s company falls in love with an employee of her company who is also incidentally a look alike of her late husband. Vishal who recognizes the sinister intentions of Rohit goes out of his way to explain to Madhura that she has been blinded by Rohit’s wit and tries to prove him wrong every time. But the shrewd Rohit leaves no trace of his cunningness to show her that he is the most perfect person in every aspect.
Will Madhura ever find out about Rohit’s evil doings?
Sunil plays the character of Vishal Pandey , a successful advocate. He is soft spoken, kind hearted and a true friend who provides emotional as well as legal support to Madhura & her family in all the difficult times in their life. And this he does even when Madhura who was supposed to be engaged to him tries to run away with her lover just before the engagement day. The polite & down to earth Vishal very much resembles the real life Sunil Barve.
