Story at a glance :

Megha Daatale is the story of a young couple, Rahul & Karuna. Rahul is an MBA gold medalist who is married to Karuna also one of the toppers from his college. Both are very much in love with each other. He is in a well to do company with a good pay. Karuna is not quite interested in a career but Rahul insists that she should do some job & not waste her academic brilliance.

Karuna isn't a career orineted woman, so she decides to stay home after marriage & take care of Rahul's parents. But on Rahul's insistence she has to agree to get a job. Coincidentally, Rahul's firm has a vacancy perfectly suitable for her qualifications & she gets a job in the same firm as Rahul. Initially as a couple they like working in the same office. But a day comes when Karuna gets a promotion highly coveted by Rahul which hurts his pride. This becomes an ego issue for Rahul who resorts to drinking alcohol & starts throwing temper tantrums at his wife for any small incidents. He loses his job because of his unreasonable behavior.

Karuna who is unaware of the real cause gets hurt in the process & starts distancing herself from Rahul. Not satisfied with the way things turn out, Rahul then starts accusing his wife of having extra-marital relations with their boss . Ultimately this results in their separation. What happens when Rahul realises his mistake later? Is it too late for him to sort things out? Is Karuna generous enough to forgive Rahul's mistake? Well this essentially is the story around which the serial is based upon!

About Sunil's Character :

A male chauvinist with a bloated ego, Rahul's jealousy shoots up when he sees that his wife who is not even a gold medallist unlike him gets the coveted promotion. He therefore concludes that women can get desired career advancements by impressing their superiors. Deep down it is his insecurity that keeps him from admitting his mistakes. He resorts to alcoholism and accuses his wife for being unfaithful. When Karuna leaves him, he is devastated when he finally realises his follies, but then too his ego reigns supreme.
