Sunil Barve as RJ on Radio Surabhi!
This is a show where Sunil talks about his favorite topics & plays his favorite Marathi songs for the listeners. Every week he selects a different topic. The show has been on air since the inception of the channel from Nov 6, 2006. The first show of तो हा सुनिल बरवा... was aired on Nov 12, 2006.
Every once in a while he has celebrity guests on the show whom he interviews & chats with, in an informal setting.So far celebrities that have been on the show include Shri. Shaunak Abhishekhi, Dr. Saleel Kulkarni, Pallavi Joshi, Dr. Girish Oak, Neena Kulkarni. Sunil has also done a telephonic interview of Shri. Anil Avchat on the show.
This is a very new experience for him as also for us, who get to see another facet of his versatile personality. The entire theme of the show is executed by him in that right from the selection of the topic to the composition of the script, everything is done by him. Indeed its a breeze to hear Sunil talk on this show!
Sunil was also actively involved in Pustak Jatra by 'Sahitya Surabhi' that was aired from 21-27 April 2009. Sunil has talked about his favorite Marathi book 'Rarangdhang' by Prabhakar Pendharkar on the same show. To celebrate the Lavani Mahotsav on Radio Surabhi, Sunil along with a colleague presented a radio documentary on Surekha Punekar - the famous Lavani Queen!
It is highly appreciable that Sunil finds time for the script writing amidst his highly hectic schedule. He landed up with this job quite coincidentally. A co-artist with whom he had compered once sent that recording for her audition. Impressed by his compering skills, the Radio Surabhi team offered him the role of a RJ (Radio Jockey) on their channel!
