This play is supposed to be a fun-filled comic tale of a man in pursuit of a female companion. Rahul, the central character is a dentist whose heart flutters each time he sees a woman. But Rahul is also fixed. His search for the ideal companion is a utopian fantasy.

Rahul’s secretary, Karuna loves him but Rahul is heedless to her affections as he dreams of getting married to a girl called Manik who is half his age. Manik too has another suitor, as does Karuna. Each of the characters in the play thus labour for love and this gives rise to one hilarious situation after the next.

Finally, Rahul realizes the futility of his actions and gives in to Karuna’s genuine affection and care.
