Story at a glance:

The much talked about Marathi film Tahaan is based on the problems of the drought-effected farmers of Maharashtra. Water is today’s burning problem especially for farmers of Marathwada, Vidharbha districts. Meaning thirst, the film focuses on the subject and reveals the miserable lives that these farmer’s lead, their fight and struggle for water and also reveals the politics, the negative attitude towards this sensitive problems.

When a farmer commits suicide the ministers at the state level try in every way to prevent his family from making an issue out of it. The family becomes the target of political exploitation under the pretext of government relief..whereas the main issue of farmers committing suicides still prevails. The film depicts how the local farmers undertake steps to teach the corrupt politicians a lesson they will remember!
