Production : Suyog Productions
The drama begins with an episode in which a producer approaches a playwright for a new play. The playwright expresses his inability to write meaningless comedies. The heroine who has accompanied the producer insists that the writer writes a woman-oriented script so that she would get a chance to play the leading character. The writer somehow manages to extricate himself by promising that he will write a revue about relationships.
The writer then embarks on a creative journey by writing about ‘Hriday’ who is seeking a committed relationship with ‘Sarika’. Hriday’s friend ‘Guru’ too is on the same trail. At the same time, an unassuming relationship is being formed between two more characters- ‘Sheena’ and ‘Vicky’, figments of the writer’s imagination.
Now these two characters are compelled to explore new and unusual spaces in Mumbai where they can simply talk without falling prey to the moral police of the city. Their efforts at finding novel spaces leads from one funny situation to the other. Other themes such as matchmaking, urban influences on relationships, etc are also touched upon by the writer.
The writer finally comes to the conclusion that relationships are fragile. They need to be carefully nurtured and developed. If that is not done, then any relationship can crumble under pressure. Presented as a fast paced revue, ITHE HAVAY KUNALA PREM focuses on the need of strong, meaningful and lasting relationships.
